The club held their annual Closed Competition over the weekend 16 / 17th April with a strong line up of entries.

There were a couple of close calls in the early round with Robert Sutton pushing first team player Paul Allen all the way and veteran Vic Armond running second team no 1 Paul Burrell very close. In the end the top 8 seeds made it through to the quarter finals with the high light being the match between Richard Speed and Dean Drury which Dean won 3-0 The semi finals paired up number 1 seed Chris Gibbons with Paul Burrell which went to form with Chris winning 3-0 and Bob Warren having a bit too much experience for Dean Drury. In the final Chris was too strong for Bob and ran out a convincing 3-0 winner. In the plate which had to be reorganised due to injuries and unavailability Ashley Brooks overcame Paul Bailey in a great final with neither player willing to give in and giving great entertainment to those watching.
